Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital offers intensive programs with specialized tracks for chemical dependency, mental health, and co-occurring disorders.
Intensive Outpatient Chemical Dependency Program
Intensive Outpatient Program is a licensed outpatient facility providing intensive treatment for substance abuse and chemical dependency. Our Chemical Dependency treatment program provides group therapy and multi-family group therapy facilitated by licensed clinicians with specialized programs offered for women and dual diagnosed patients. In addition to group therapy, patients are randomly drug screened and are asked to attend at least two 12 step meetings per week. Patients are also expected to find a 12 step sponsor during the initial phase of treatment.
Phases of Treatment
In the initial, Intensive Phase of treatment, patients participate in treatment four evenings a week for five weeks. When patients complete the first phase, they move to the Transition Phase, which consists of two groups a week for eight weeks. The last phase of our program is the Continuing Care Phase. In this phase, clients must attend one group per week but may come more often if they desire. In order to complete the Intensive Outpatient Program clients must participate in a minimum of one group per week for the duration of the Continuing Care Phase. For the purposes of program compliance, the Continuing Care phase of treatment ends one year after the date of enrollment in the program. There is no fee for Continuing Care.
Continuing Care is available to patients for as long as they need it, so long as they remain active in the program by attending group therapy at least one time per week.
Prospective patients are assessed prior to admission to determine appropriateness for participation. We accept most insurance plans. Interest free payment plans as well as partial scholarship are also available for patients whose insurance benefits do not cover treatment.
