The Foundation for Cottage Rehabilitation and Goleta Valley Cottage Hospitals (FCR&GVCH) has elected a new member, Nicholas “Scott” Vincent, to its Board of Directors for 2025. He will serve a 6-year term and will be joining the Rebuild & Renew Campaign Steering Committee to support the relocation of Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital to the Goleta campus.

Vincent holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Bucknell University and earned a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law. He served as legal counsel for numerous departments at the City of Santa Barbara from 2004 until his retirement in 2018.

His previous board experience includes serving on various committees with the Foundation for Santa Barbara City College for ten years, including a four-year term as Board President. He is also active in volunteering and fundraising for several local charities such as Calm, the Alzheimer’s Association and Transition House.

“We are so pleased to welcome Scott Vincent to the board,” said Katina Zaninovich, FCR&GVCH Board Chair. “His deep ties to the Goleta community, including the medical community as well as his exceptional philanthropic and board work in the greater Santa Barbara area, will bring a deep understanding of our mission.” A life-long resident of the Santa Barbara area, Vincent has a long-standing connection to the Cottage Health System. He was born at Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital, and his father served on the Goleta Valley Hospital and Cottage Hospital boards for many years. He has two children and enjoys sailing and playing golf.

“Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital has been an integral part of my life,” said Vincent. “It is the place of my birth. It is where I watched my father practice medicine. It is where my parents first modeled community service for me and my brothers. I look forward to serving on the foundation board to help Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital and Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital provide high quality, innovative health care to the community.”

FCR&GVCH is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to advance exceptional health and rehabilitative care at Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital and Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital by inspiring philanthropic support, financial stewardship and patient advocacy.
