CH Commissions Community Health Needs Assessments

How can our community become a better place in which all of us can live, work and play? It begins with an initiative to better understand the health needs of those living here.

Cottage Health recently conducted two Community Health Needs Assessments for south and mid-Santa Barbara County—roughly the areas served by Cottage Health hospitals. The assessments identify major health concerns, gaps in services, and other factors that may detract from optimal health status for residents of our community. 

Community Health Needs Assessments gather information through telephone surveys of residents and in meetings with key opinion leaders, and analyzing secondary data.

This information is being shared with the entire community, as well as all providers of health care in the area to assist in the development of programs and services based upon the data obtained and the opportunities identified.
