Our Hospitality Services division includes Environmental Services (Housekeeping), Nutrition (Food and Beverage) and Hospitality departments. The professionals in these departments provide critical services to enhance the patient experience at Cottage. These positions include roles with patient and family interaction, offering opportunities to ensure the highest and safest quality of care.
We approach every day as Earth Day at Cottage Health. Our sustainable efforts have been recognized nationally, and we are proud of our efforts to improve the health of our entire community and environment through eco-friendly practices.

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital’s Environmental Services Department earned the Association for the Health Care Environment top award for its high patient survey scores for cleanliness of environment, adaptability to cleaning and disinfection protocols during COVID-19 surges, and high employee retention during a challenging year.

We are proud to provide healthy and nourishing foods to our patients, visitors and staff. An important part of our focus is on obtaining locally grown, sustainable, organic products whenever possible. We can do this successfully because the Central Coast of California is known for its abundance of fresh produce and sustainable farming methods.
Fresh and Sustainable
At Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, we host a Farmers Market with local and mostly organic produce and other fresh foods. This a very popular event for both staff and community members.
Our work has real impact: At Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital alone, we serve more than 3,100 meals each day to patients, visitors and our employees. For our patients, we offer patient room service with a restaurant-style menu of healthy options.
Environmental Services (Housekeeping)
Our Environmental Services professionals are committed to the highest standards for protecting the environment and health of all patients, visitors and staff—a team committed to ensuring a safe, clean healthcare environment for all.
We are proud of our commitment to leading-edge performance in disinfecting, infection prevention, environmental sustainability and stewardship, technology use, patient satisfaction, education and training.

In 2021, Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital earned the Environmental Services Department of the Year Award from the Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE) of the American Hospital Association in the 500+ beds category.
Our Hospitality Services staff are committed to creating a welcoming and safe environment for our patients and visitors.
We offer a hotel style Concierge service that offers wide variety of amenities including a loan out program, accommodation assistance and service recovery. The team of hospitality professionals is available to help navigate guests through their hospital visit.
They also play an important role in the patient and guest experience by creating and working to advance service excellence throughout Cottage Health.
