Conservatorship Resources

Conservatorship is a legal process managed by the courts. A judge must determine whether an adult has the mental capacity to care for their finances, living and personal needs, and health. If a judge determines that a person cannot manage these duties, the court may appoint a representative (known as a “conservator”) to make decisions on their behalf. Conservatorship is not necessary for all adults with disabilities. If you have questions or want to begin the process of applying for conservatorship, there are several community resources who can help.
