The Infant CPR Live Chat is modeled after the American Heart Association guidelines for the lay public and covers CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and choking first aid for infants. This course is appropriate for parents, babysitters, and anyone else who spends time with infants and wants to learn these skills.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for this course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.
After a seat in the class has been purchased, an Infant CPR Anytime kit will be sent to your home. The kit will include a manikin and instructions for reviewing the course material. After review of the modules, participants are welcome to join an online Live Chat session with one of our certified AHA instructors. A brief review of infant CPR will be provided in the course and the instructor will provide time for questions and answers.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Discuss causes and prevention of injury and cardiopulmonary arrest in infants
- Demonstrate how to administer CPR and first aid for choking infants and children
