These classes will help prepare expectant families for the arrival of a new baby. The classes are intended to provide expert support for the challenges of pregnancy and labor. Throughout the class, participants will have the opportunity to ask a certified childbirth educator questions about labor and birth.

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital’s Childbirth Preparation Class will help prepare expectant families for the arrival of a new baby. Our classes support your choice of a natural approach and/or medical options for coping with the labor and birth process. Specially trained registered nurses provide expert perspectives and support to help you navigate your childbirth experience.
The in-person 2-part series occurs on two separate nights with each class being a 2-2.5-hour period. We recommend taking this class anywhere between 6-10 weeks before your due date. Register early to ensure you have a spot as space is limited for the in-person classes.
