Dr. Stephen Kaminski - Trauma Services Medical Director

Stephen Kaminksi, MD is the medical director of trauma services and the surgical intensive care unit for Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. A cum laude chemistry graduate of Boston College, Dr. Kaminksi earned his medical degree from Hahneman University in Philadelphia, receiving the Delaney Award for Academic Excellence.

He next joined Stanford University Hospital to complete his residency in general surgery while also serving two years as a research fellow in gastrointestinal surgery. This was followed by a fellowship in trauma surgery and critical care at the University of Maryland in Baltimore.

Returning to California as a practicing general and trauma surgeon, Dr. Kaminski spent the next ten years at a number of Level 1 and Level 2 trauma centers in Santa Clara, San Jose and San Diego.
