Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital Foundation recently held its annual black-tie gala, the Tiara Ball, on February 29, 2020, at The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara. More than 500 registered guests supported this year’s event, which raised over $620,000 to benefit emergency, trauma and critical care services at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

The Tiara Ball was organized by an 18-member committee comprised of community volunteers and hospital staff. Alexandra Nourse was chair of this year’s event (her fourth year as chair). Speakers at the evening’s program included Mrs. Nourse; Greg Faulkner, Chair of the Cottage Health Board of Directors; and Ron Werft, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cottage Health.

Since 2005, the Tiara Ball has raised $6,395,240.17 in funds to help treat thousands of adults and children who are critically ill or injured. Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital is able to provide the highest quality care in a state-of-the-art facility in large part because of the generosity of so many within our community. The cost of providing these lifesaving services is significant and no one in acute need is turned away.
