Imagine What We'll Do Next
Since 1891, Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital has provided high quality, community focused care and has operated as a not-for-profit — founded, built and supported by the community it serves.
Today, our hospitals and care clinics are found throughout the Central Coast, providing a comprehensive range of services, improved access to care, and advanced treatments that have earned national recognition across many specialties.
Taking great care of patients starts with great people. For 135 years, we’ve been committed to our core values of excellence, integrity, and compassion. Imagine what we’ll do next.
Greatness Through Generations
Generations of CARE
Denise, Cottage Urgent Care
For five years at Cottage Urgent Care, Denise has cared for patients of all ages, helping families through life’s unexpected moments. Cottage helped her earn an X-ray license – a skill she uses to provide patients with answers for the care they need.
Generations of ENDURANCE
Emily, Mother of Four
When the Palisades Fire displaced Emily and her family, she was 28 weeks pregnant. They found safety in Santa Barbara – and Cottage. Baby Athena arrived early, spending 65 days in Cottage’s Haselton Family Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Athena grew strong. She thrived. Today, she’s spreading joy wherever she goes.
Generations of RESILIENCE
Antonio and Rummy, Great-Grandparents
When Rummy suffered an aneurism, Cottage helped her heal. Months prior, a heart procedure at Cottage saved Antonio’s life. This year they celebrate 55 years of marriage with four generations of family.
Generations of COMPASSION
Kathy, Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital
For 20 years, Kathy has been a calming presence in the ER – the person patietns trust most during their most difficult times – and the team member the next generation of caregivers turn to so they can learn from the best.
