Andria Ruth, MD

Born in Salt Lake City and raised in Southern California, our Associate Program Director Andria Ruth is a strong champion and advocate for the importance of primary care pediatrics in the health and lives of our children.

In her spare time, she enjoys travel with her family, reading, running the streets of Santa Barbara, where participating in the annual Turkey Trot is a family tradition.

Clinical Areas of Interest/Expertise

I practice pediatrics within a federally-qualified health center (FQHC). My clinical interests include supporting children who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), the care of children with complex medical needs, and interventions to prevent and treat childhood obesity.

Community Service and Research Interests

I serve as the Vice Chair of the Executive Committee of the Thrasher Research Fund, having held this position since 2005. The Thrasher Research Fund provides medical research grants to improve the lives of children.

My research areas of interest focus on screening and intervention for children exposed to adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and the impact of resilience-promoting interventions for these children and their families.
