Helen Matthews, MD, FACOG, Medical Director

Dr. Helen Matthews is board certified through The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has more than 20 years of experience, including routine and high-risk obstetric cases. She previously served in the Women's Group for Health of UCSF Benioff Children's Physicians.

She graduated Magda Cum Laude from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania and earned her MD from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Yeshiva University, in The Bronx, NY. She completed her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD.

Dr. Matthews also practices robotic surgery and is proficient in Acessa laparoscopic ablation of uterine fibroids, diagnostic hysteroscopy, hysteroscopic retrieval of IUDs, IUD placement, Nexplanon placement and removal, colposcopy, vulvar and endometrial biopsies. She is a North American Menopause Society (NAMS) certified menopause specialist.


Maribeth Claassen, CNM, WHNP, Nurse Midwife

Maribeth Claassen, CNM, WHNP, Nurse Midwife

A former NICU nurse, Maribeth is board certified as a Nurse-Midwife, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, and as a lactation consultant. She has been attending births for the past 15 years. Maribeth received her nursing and midwifery degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and her undergraduate degree in French and Anthropology from Vanderbilt University. Maribeth is a North American Menopause Society (NAMS) certified menopause specialist. She is fluent in French and proficient in medical Spanish.


Britta Gray, DO

Britta Gray, DO

Dr. Britta Gray is a board-certified Ob/Gyn. Prior to joining Cottage Ob/Gyn Clinic, she practiced for five years at a Federally Qualified Health Center in East Palo Alto, CA, where she had hospital privileges at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital-Stanford and San Mateo Medical Center.

Dr. Gray earned her BA in Medical Anthropology from the University of California - Berkeley and a Master of Public Health and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL, where she served as chief administrative resident. She is a North American Menopause Society (NAMS) certified menopause specialist. Dr. Gray is a native Californian. Dr. Gray is fluent in Spanish.


Dr. Lisa A. Lepine, MD

Lisa A. Lepine, MD

Board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Lisa Lepine has nearly 30 years of medical experience. She has held faculty positions at The University of Washington and Emory University, where she served as the gynecologic consultant to the Women’s Health Initiative, the largest multi-center US study on menopause to date. She is a North American Menopause Society certified menopause practitioner.

Dr. Lepine received her bachelor’s degree in French and Spanish Literature from Pomona College Claremont, California. She attended the University of California San Diego for medical school and completed her residency there as well. She participated in a public health fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and has done international work in several African and South American countries. Dr. Lepine is a North American Menopause Society (NAMS) certified menopause specialist.

Dr. Lepine speaks French and Spanish.
