The Little Cottages serve the families of Cottage Health patients during medical crisis.  We provide overnight accommodations in a quiet, supportive environment.

What are the Facilities Like?

The Little Cottages are less than a block from Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital Emergency entrance.

Six attractive family-style units are the heart of The Little Cottages. Each studio has a queen size bed and other furnishings. Each has a private bathroom.

We are a smoke-free facility.

Who Stays at the Little Cottages?

Guests at The Little Cottages are usually referred by Medical Social Services, Case Management staff, or Spiritual Care at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Consideration is given to the family’s distance from the hospital, the nature of the patient’s condition and financial need.

We typically limit our guests to three nights’ lodging, as we are committed to accommodating as many guests as possible.

Contributions

We value your support.

The Little Cottages provide no-cost accommodations to patients’ families who are not able to obtain a place to stay on their own.

Those who are guests at The Little Cottages are invited to make a contribution to support the program. Contributions may be placed in the gift envelope provided by Hospitality Services and may be returned to Hospitality Services, or placed in the donation drop box near the office at The Little Cottages. Checks should be made payable to: Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital Foundation.

General Information

Accommodations

Each cottage is comfortably furnished with a queen size bed and rollaway or pullout sleeper. Cottages can accommodate a maximum of four guests. Each has a private bath and there are no kitchen facilities, TVs or telephones. Coin-operated laundry is on site behind the Iris Cottage.

Parking

There are six unassigned parking spaces in the rear of the building. One spot per cottage please. For guests with more than one car, please use the hospital parking structure. Please make sure to display your parking permit on your dashboard.

Keys

Please check out by 11am on your departure day by returning your room keys to Hospitality Services at the Pueblo Lobby at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Hours

Check-out time is 11am. Check-in is at 3pm at our Hospitality Desk at the Pueblo Lobby at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. For urgent matters after 8pm, contact Hospital Security at (805) 569-7319.

Rules

No smoking, cooking, alcohol or pets please. Children must be supervised at all times. Please remember that all guests have a loved one at the hospital and some guests may be sleeping during the day. We ask all guests be aware and promote the atmosphere of The Little Cottages as a quiet sanctuary.
