Block Schedule - Pediatric Residency

Please see the sample schedules for each of the three years below. Throughout each rotation (other than night float, away rotations and vacation), residents attend academic half day every Tuesday afternoon and continuity clinic one afternoon per week.

Cottage Residency Postgraduate year 1

PGY-1 Rotation

  • Inpatient Ward - 12 weeks
  • Night Float - 4 weeks
  • Elective - 4 weeks
  • CAPE (Center for Advocacy in Pediatrics and Education) - 4 weeks
  • Ambulatory - 8 weeks
  • Elective - 8 weeks
  • Newborn Nursery - 4 weeks
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit - 4 weeks
  • Emergency Department - 4 weeks
  • Vacation - 4 weeks

PGY-2 Rotation

  • Inpatient Ward Senior - 4 weeks
  • Night Float - 4 weeks
  • Ambulatory - 4 weeks
  • Mental Health - 4 weeks
  • Adolescent - 4 weeks
  • Pediatric Intensive Care Unit - 4 weeks
  • Emergency Department - 4 weeks
  • CAPE - 4 weeks
  • Elective - 16 weeks
  • Vacation - 4 weeks
