A Matter of Balance is an evidence-based program that works on changing how you think about falls and reducing the fear of them. In class, you will engage in group activities, discuss tools that you can use in every day life, and be given additional community resources for you to utilize. Additionally, you will engage in low-impact exercises to help with your stability and strengthening of important muscles needed to prevent a fall.

Two-hour classes are offered once a week for 8 weeks – please call for location.

You Will Learn To:

  • View falls as controllable
  • Set goals for increasing activity
  • Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
  • Exercise to increase strength and balance

Who Should Attend?

  • Anyone concerned about falls
  • Anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength
  • Anyone who has fallen in the past
  • Anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns
