Paul Erickson, MD, Medical Director
Dr. Paul Erickson is Medical Director for Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
He attended Yale University, then University of Massachusetts Medical School, and completed his psychiatry residency at the Cambridge Hospital, at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Erickson is Board Certified in Psychiatry, and completing Board Certification in Addiction Medicine. He has an appointment at the University of Southern California Medical School as Assistant Professor in Psychiatry. His clinical practice is with adults and adolescents in both psychiatry and addiction medicine.
He enjoys teaching students, giving talks, and developing new programs. He moved to Santa Barbara in 2002 from Boston, and is enjoying now having a year round outdoor life.
Adham Malaty, MD
Adham Malaty, MD is a staff Psychiatrist at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. He joined Cottage Health in 2017. He graduated from Ain Shams University Medical School and then he completed his residency in Psychiatry at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Malaty is board certified in Psychiatry and Neurology and he is certified in in electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). Dr. Malaty is dividing his time at Cottage hospital in between managing patients in the inpatient psychiatric unit and doing consultation liaison psychiatry on the medical and surgical floors. Dr. Malaty is a volunteer faculty at USC and he participates in the medical student teaching during their psychiatric rotations at Cottage Hospital.
He is also an active member of a medical staff committee and participates in quality improvement projects at Cottage Hospital. Dr. Malaty enjoys playing sports, he played Water Polo competitively, he is an avid traveler and he enjoys cultures in general.
Danielle Lopez, MD
Danielle Lopez, MD is a staff psychiatrist at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. She has diverse experiences in addition to medicine and psychiatry. She studied Biology at Whittier College, and after college taught high school science and later was an Adjunct Professor of Anatomy at a junior college. She completed medical school at the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine.
After medical school she worked with unwed mothers and their children at St. Anne's Maternity Home, then completed a residency in psychiatry at USC Medical Center and the Los Angeles County Hospital.
She has worked with the homeless at Mental Health America in Los Angeles as a psychiatrist, and also with the severely and persistently mentally ill at La Casa Mental Health Rehabilitation Center, and at La Paz Gero-psychiatric Center. She now enjoys living in Santa Barbara.
Chase Warren, MD
Chase Warren, MD graduated from UC Irvine School of Medicine in 2012 and Stanford Psychiatry Residency Program in 2017, specializing in Emergency & Consult/Liaison Psychiatry.
